First Trust Nasdaq Clean Edge Global Water UCITS ETF Acc is an accumulating exchange-traded fund that tracks the Nasdaq Clean Edge Global Water Index. This index focuses on companies deriving substantial revenues from the potable water and wastewater industry, including sectors such as water distribution, infrastructure like pumps, pipes and valves, water solutions involving purification and filtration, and ancillary services like consulting, construction and metering. The ETF employs physical replication to mirror the index, which uses a modified equal-weighted approach emphasizing pure play water companies for 80% of the weight and diversified firms for the remaining 20%. Companies are selected based on revenue exposure, market capitalization, liquidity, and ESG risk ratings from Sustainalytics, spanning domiciles worldwide including the USA, Europe, Canada, Japan and others. Domiciled in Ireland and provided by First Trust, launched in 2025, the fund offers unhedged USD exposure with a sustainability focus under SFDR Article 8, enabling investors to access global water-related equities through a long-only strategy.
